Trail Network improvement projects throughout the community (2009-2010) |
STS works with developers with District applications, to maintain and improve connectivity of the trail network in the community as a result of site development and changing land use. We work in a collaborative manner, and often with other relevant groups in the community, to find trail design and connection solutions that STS, private developers, and the municipality can support and follow through on.
In 2009 STS negotiated an agreement (2009) and annual compensation contribution (2009 to 2039) for community trail improvements through Wesbild Developments’ Garibaldi Village project. This arrangement was negotiated as related to the vehicular crossing (exit from Highway 99) of the Corridor Trail (which was previously constructed by community volunteers as the Rotary Trail).
